Welcome to the North Alabama Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. The North Alabama Chapter (formerly known as the Tennessee Valley Chapter) originated as an ASSE Section, part of the Birmingham, AL Chapter. In 1968, the Tennessee Valley Chapter was chartered in Decatur, AL. In 2011, the name was changed to the North Alabama Chapter.
The Chapter’s geographical area is located in Northern Alabama. Chapter members are located in Cherokee, Colbert, Dekalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties in Alabama. Major cities in the Chapter’s geographical area include Decatur, Athens, Florence, Muscle Shoals and Huntsville, Alabama.
A large industrial base is located with in the Chapter’s area and includes organizations in the space, safety training, chemical production, aerospace and missile defense, construction, and nuclear power industries. Its 93 members represent the following organizations:
